The schedule for both the Merrimack men’s and women’s basketball programs is currently pushed back until January.
The men’s program was supposed to open last Thursday against Iona, but was canceled after Merrimack had a positive COVID test, according to Iona head coach Rick Pitino.
The Warriors were then set to open the season this Thursday at Long Island but games there on Thursday and Friday were postponed. A road game at Bryant next Wednesday (Dec. 16) has also been postponed.
The Warriors are now scheduled to open the season on Jan. 7 against Sacred Heart at home, but schedules around the nation are evolving almost daily.
The women’s program had its Dec. 5 game at UMass Lowell postponed as well as home dates against Long Island (tomorrow and Wednesday) and a home game against Bryant (Dec. 15).
The women’s program is now scheduled to open on Jan. 7 on the road at Sacred Heart.
